That is what Family Go Global is all about, curating unique travel experiences that center on family first and put learning right up there with having fun. Since its inception, Family Go Global has hosted travel adventures in North America, Central America and Europe and will soon be expanding to South America.
The Family Go Global Travel Tribe consists of globe-trotting families of all backgrounds, shapes and sizes. Our trips are intentionally designed for a diverse clientele and aim to be intergenerational in nature. We believe that the village extends beyond the immediate family and making unforgettable memories with the grandparents and cousins or even treasured friends is just as important.
Our travel guides are not only world travelers, we are parents too! So our trips are handcrafted with all of your family needs in mind. We can take care of everything from accommodations and on-the-ground transportation, to daily activities. Our “Kids Only” breakout sessions and “Parents-Night-Out” are led by experienced teachers and provide your children an opportunity to dive deeper into learning about the language and culture around them. Parents, this means that you are off the hook to explore and unwind! Trust us, this is not your average everyone-in-blue-hats kind of tour. We combine the best tourist activities with our own off-the-beaten path experiences so that you get a real taste of local life.
Our Approach
Family Go Global’s authentic approach to designing educational travel programs is anchored in best practices in progressive educational pedagogy and relies on establishing deep local partnerships in each destination that we visit. Our team of program designers have over 20 years of experience as educators and specialists working with children - this includes public school teachers, psychologists, child development specialists and out-of-school time professionals in the arts, sports and sciences. We have had the pleasure of working with award winning schools, global non-profits, internationally acclaimed art studios and some of the best language institutes in the world to ensure a high quality educational program for all participants.
Family Go Global programs are interdisciplinary in nature and cover a variety of subjects, from world-changing practices in eco-sustainability and peace practices, to performing arts, cooking, visual arts, sports, gardening, engineering, and more. Our signature bilingual summer camp experiences are anchored in play and have been designed to fully immerse youth in the local language and culture in a project-based way. Family Go Global travel guides, teachers and camp counselors are really at the heart of the travel experience. They consist of a combination of experienced international and local talent, bringing a unique global perspective to each learning opportunity.

Meet our Founder
Family Go Global was founded in 2013 by Rebecca Bernard with the aim of making travel easy, educational and fun for families. As an experienced educator, avid traveler and mother, Rebecca has combined the personal wisdom gained traversing the globe with her own children over the last decade with 25 years of teaching experience to curate life-changing experiences for families that want to learn while exploring the globe.
Rebecca is a founder of two progressive bilingual schools in Los Angeles and has designed and managed youth programs for thousands of children through her entrepreneurial and non-profit roles over the years. She firmly believes in life-long learning and holds a B.A. degree in World Arts & Cultures from the University of California Los Angeles, a Master’s in Communications Management from the University of Southern California, and a Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and dabbles in Italian and French.
For Rebecca, there is nothing more exciting than watching a kids eyes light up at the discovery of something new—be it in a classroom, or wandering the streets of Havana. She is excited about creating more opportunities for the Family Go Global Travel Tribe to connect authentically with the world and foster a greater sense of wonder, respect, and appreciation for the cultural tapestry that makes up this beautiful planet. As a champion for education equity, it is her mission to also make immersive educational experiences like the ones that Family Go Global provides more accessible to the kids that need it most.
